US - Technical Support Representative

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Quickly and efficiently respond to, and resolve routine customer issues
  • Provide end users with operational assistance on our software
  • Must be able to discern the appropriate escalation path to resolve complex or ongoing customer issues
  • Provide technical support to various types of employees within our customers' organizations
  • Act as customer champion and advocate within the organization to ensure that issues are being communicated succinctly and correctly
  • Responsible for installation and setup of our web based application
  • Provide support to our onsite Professional Services Consultants
  • Maintain required documentation of issues and issue resolution and full details of completed installations
  • Provide technical support to internal customers

Requirements for this position include:

  • Excellent problem solving skills; able to leverage common sense, logic and instinct
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to actively listen in order to hear customer issues and quickly discern a path to resolution
  • Exceptional customer service skills; proven customer advocate
  • Ability to relate to variety of customers with varying levels of technical aptitude
  • Well developed time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team oriented environment
  • Consistently practice a proactive approach to issue resolution
  • Expertise required in various Windows client operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, PC hardware/peripherals
  • Understand and/or manage Windows 2000/2003/2005 server environment
  • Experience configuring IIS
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS SQL Server (2000/2005/2008)
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and network systems tools a plus
  • Working knowledge of web based application and sever side programming is a plus
  • Crystal Reports experience is a plus
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in an IT call center, desktop and/or server environment
